Simulation of SEL relay zone delay value "OFF" in OneLiner V14.5

In OneLiner Version 14.5, which was sent out to users in June 2017, we had included a software bug fix in simulation of zone delay setting value "OFF" in distance relay types SEL311P__, SEL311G__, SEL321P__, SEL321G__ and SEL421P__, SEL421G__ .

In OneLiner V14.4 and earlier, the zone delay setting value "OFF" was interpreted as zero, which resulted in inaccurate report of relay instantaneous trip.  In actuality, a distance zone with this setting never trips because the timer is turned off.

The bug fix we applied in V14.5 caused the program to treat distance zones with delay setting value "OFF" as "signal-only". The program continues to report operation of these distance zones in the Distance relay window and also when the zones are included in logic schemes as before. However the program no longer reports distance relay types SEL311P__, SEL311G__, SEL321P__, SEL321G__ and SEL421P__, SEL421G__ instantaneous relay trip when zones with delay setting value "OFF" operated in faults.

The What's new in OneLiner V14.5 release document includes this bug fix item on page 3:

Special note for users whose SEL relay trip logic includes no delay tripping on zone 1 operation: to have correct simulation results in V14.5 you must make sure that all distance relays in your OLR file of the types SEL311P__, SEL311G__, SEL321P__, SEL321G__ and SEL421P__, SEL421G__  have zone delay setting value of "0" (zero) and not "OFF".

You can use this PowerScript program to update all SEL distance relay settings Z1PD or Z1GD=OFF to Z1PD or Z1GD=0.0 in your OLR file:
